Help

Please pray for us right now.
Our current step of this process is not looking extremely favorable.
We still have hope but we can use all the thoughts and prayers
you are able to extend.

Advice from Kanye West

Seriously...I know you are all thinking that I have lost it and you may not be too far from the truth.

On my way to work this morning I was listening to my favorite morning show when who would have guessed Kanye West's song Stronger came on.  I found myself crying to the first few words then laughing at the fact that the song really does suck, although it has a great beat!

Anyway, here are his words of wisdom:

N, n, now that don't kill me can only make me stronger.

P.S.  He is a good looking man!!!

Happiness and Hope

Please forgive me for the ba-hum-bug attitude lately.  I realize that although my situation is not ideal in my eyes I have truly been given a gift from my Heavenly Father.  I have so much joy in my heart and so much to be thankful for that I wanted to mention good things that are happening.

1.  Phil is WONDERFUL!  I have a loving husband who is by my side and with whom we are building our family...with or without children.

2.  A job I absolutely love!  Teaching makes my heart happy.

3.  A house that is everything I always wanted it to be. (although right now it is anything but clean)

4.  I have two parents who are still together and who have sacrificed to provide me with an amazing life.  I love you two!

5.  Friends who call or stop by with hugs to lend an ear.

6.  Neighbors who couldn't be better!

7.  Faithful visiting teachers who always brighten my world.  Thanks Kat and Susan.

8.  A cute dog and cat who always make me feel wanted and loved.

9.  My health...even with infertility issues...at least that's the least of my worries.

10.  The Gospel of Jesus Christ to lead and guide and remind me what is important.

Hope you all have a wonderful day!

Love and hugs.

Love it!

Over my long weekend I discovered an old love...Fruit Stripe Gum.  If you haven't tried it you are missing out.  They now make a sugar free pack that my mother would have much rather had us chew as children.  Either way it is SUPER YUMMY!

Ah Ha!

When my sister and her husband were her they attended a marriage conference put on my Christian Life called Weekend to Remember.  They thought is was so great that they registered each of their parents and siblings to go as well. Although Phil and I were a bit apprehensive, it was a bit out of our comfort zone and we weren't sure what to expect, we absolutely loved it.  Two of the main points I took from the conference were:

1.  Women crave love and want to be close to their husband while Men crave and need respect.  What I realized is that I haven't shown Phil that I compl
etely respect and honor him. Of course in mind I kept thinking, "Ya, but he hasn't done ____________ or _______________. And what about _________________."  Reality is I need to be a better wife!  I have been trying to show him I love him by loving and caring for him, while he has been showing me love by respecting me.
I guess we each exhibit the behaviors we want to have mirrored back. If only I had known this sooner.  This is a great book I found that explains this crazy mixed up idea.

2) Instead of thinking the grass is greener on the other side...Water and fertilize your side!

Actually I found about 5, maybe 6 books! but who's counting?

At Grandma's

I love, more than anything, spending time at my Grandma's house in Saratoga.  When I went to Wyoming for our girls retreat we were lucky enough to spend a few hours with the other side of the family at Grandma's.  It was the first time in years that we three girls, mom, and dad were all there together.  I HATE LIVING SO FAR AWAY, but the CHERISH the time we have TOGETHER!

Pictures

Holla! (that's for Kim) The new picture was taken by one of my rockin' chicas, Kim. Check out her work HERE.  She is wonderfully talented.  Phil and I have come to know her through the adoption world. We are in the middle of re-working our profile and these pictures will add a bunch to it.   Until I can figure out how to make the pictures small enough to load on my blog, check them out on Kim's photography site, scroll through and you will find many of our shots.  We are really happy to have such talented people in our lives.

GONE

Our HUGE cottonwood tree in the back of our house, as well as the three red, gross, yucky plum trees in our front lawn are now gone. This is all that remains and it too will be gone in a few weeks.  It looks strange but with time and more money we will be able to re-landscape so it is not as messy or dangerous to our home or the neighbors.

Cheers to Hormones!

This is my current nightly regimen.  If I see a bit edgy it's because it took my 20 minutes to get the courage to give my first shot.  Phil offered and I kindly passed.  I finally did it and I have survived.  I love him but shots might cause a divorce.  In two weeks I add two other medications in my shot and change it to a deep muscle needle.  My mother-in-law will give me those.  Once again, I don't trust Phil with a deep muscle shot.

Overall it isn't that bad at the time.  About 20 minutes after is when I get yucky.  Cheers to hormones!

Where do I start?

Today is the day.  Today is the day I begin shooting up my body with synthetic hormones trying to trick it into performing a task that most bodies perform on their own in some desperate attempt to have a baby.  I am already an emotional mess as I have been on birth control for two weeks and sware I have gained 2o pounds of water weight...already.  People keep telling me it is all worth it.  I guess we will find out.

As this entire process is heart wrenching and very much personal I will share what I can and ask that you allow me to do on my own, when I want to.  Please keep us in your prayers and thoughts and know that I am not trying to offend or keep anyone out of loop, I am only trying to protect myself and Phil, as this is the hardest thing we have ever had to face.

Space Trailer 2

Here are the pictures of my super cute (have I told you I love this group of kids) class in the space lab.  They were very well behaved and we had two successful flights and 12 out of 14 successful experiments.  The two failed were partially my fault as I paired up two kids who neither one could or would follow directions.  At least we made it home safely and no one, but maybe me, was injured.  When we finished one boy said, "You must really love us to let us do this!"

Space Trailer

I had a wonderful weekend with my mom and sisters but am very glad to be back in my own home.  I am sort of like that! When I have a minute to grab my pictures I will post them.

Today at school my kids and I get to simulate a flight to Mars in the school district's Space Trailer. The kids can't wait and I am ready for a small change in our routine.  I will let you know how it went at the end of the day.
