Slappy

My dear friend Kara's, from California, son gave Phil and I some advice last night. He thinks we should scrap X(Z)ander and name our baby Slappy.  He is 5 and told his mom that Slappy could be for either a boy or girl.

Thanks also to Kat who's dear son Zac thinks we should pick Steve. I will also pass that on.

YIPPEE!

This definitely wasn't what the ultrasound looked like but that was really Phil's expression.  We are having a boy and he isn't shy.  I guess with Phil and I for parents he really didn't have a chance!  The first time the technician had a picture on the screen she said, "Do you want to know the sex?" I was still trying to figure out what the heck I was looking out. Phil told her that of course we did and she paused the picture and pointed out two legs and a third between and said, "that was one of the easiest ones I've had."  

Everything looks great and we are SUPER happy.  He will be the first boy for either one of our parents and everyone is excited.  My mom, who only had three girls, said, "Awesome, now what do we do with a boy?" I think we will figure it out.

Names??? We are not 100% on a middle name but are pretty sure Zander will be his first name. I like it spelled: Xander but it is too hard to work with and it weirded my mom out.  Oh well, Phil and I have some time to decide.  We will keep you posted.

Today's the BIG day

Phil and I get to find out the sex of our baby today. We are both really excited and although I really just want to have a healthy baby I am starting to check the clock every ten minutes or so hoping lunch will come quick so I can get out of here (school). Phil wants to have a boy...of course he would!  

Everyone keeps asking if I have any thoughts or premonitions and all I can say to that is...no!  I guess it is something that some have, I just don't.  I hope it doesn't make me a horrible mom.  I can say that Monday night I had a very vivid dream about a boy so I guess we will see.

As the kids signed in today I had them tally the sex of the baby.  They came up with 13 girl votes and 10 boy votes, some of my geniuses didn't vote! Then I got a ton of advice and ways to tell what the baby was.  One of my boys said I definitely wanted a boy because his mom said they were easier to raise, he voted girl...he must not like me much!  Another girl told me that her mom gained a lot more weight with her than with her brother and since I hadn't gained much weight she thought it was a boy.  

I told my kids that I would surprise them tomorrow and I think that I will take a lesson from cute Wendy who took blue decorated sugar cookies to work. Of course I can't bake cute shapes but I can purchase cookies and frosting, color the frosting and get busy that way.  

Anyway, what an exciting day!  

Life changing to say the least.

22 Days...

but who's counting!

I sure am.  I don't think I have blogged about this yet but for Christmas my mom and dad gave we three girls and hubbies a family trip to Hawaii.  

Yes, I said Hawaii!

We will be staying in a beach house and just enjoying each other's company.

I have a crazy three weeks ahead of me as I am preparing for parent teacher conferences, hosting Crash and David for a fun weekend in SLC, 

trying to purchase some new summer clothes for the 85 degree weather, 

packing, 

teaching, 

adjusting to a new calling and 

anxiously awaiting finding out the sex of our miracle baby.  

We are a bit excited about the entire three weeks we have ahead of us.

Please forgive me if I am a bad friend or blogger.  

The way our tickets worked out I have conferences late both Wednesday and Thursday nights, my class tracks off on Friday at 1:50 and we fly out Saturday, March 7 at 11:00.

PS. We get to spend TWO entire weeks there.

PPS. I will be sitting on the beach with my fat self, enjoying the sun and fresh fruit.

Although driving in the snow is pretty much miserable and messy

Ultimate Peace

I love attending the Temple and the amazing peace and comfort it brings.  

Last night was our Ward Temple Night and since I have been feeling some-what better we decided to attend. 

 It has been four months since I went last and it was amazing to be back.  

We met for dinner at 6:00 with the pleasure of accompanying our youth, who had been in the Baptistry.  I love the Spirit they exude.  

The most amazing feeling was knowing that our baby was sitting there with Phil and I and that he/she was able to not only feel our gratitude and love for our Father in Heaven but was able to feel of our love for their Spirit that will be joining our family.  

I truly know that our Father in Heaven hears our prayers and answers them...on His terms and when He knows it is best.  I am grateful for my membership in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and the knowledge I have that my family will be together forever!
